- Individual players or pairs, plus a non-playing host
- A little preparation
- Print the chosen pages and gather pens and a timer

These three bridal shower games come with everything needed to play on paper: a four-minute word sprint, a fictional arrival-time puzzle and a ten-item memory round. Download the player worksheets and the separate host pack below. Each game has its own timing, scoring and shared-win rule.
Choose one that suits the group. The word sprint leaves room for funny answers, the logic puzzle gives guests a quiet problem to solve together, and the memory round uses a printed display instead of objects you need to collect. None asks guests to know private details about the couple, bring a gift or perform in front of the room.

The two paper sizes contain the same games. Players get the player file; the non-playing host keeps the host file. Print single-sided so an answer key cannot appear on the back of a worksheet.
- A4 player worksheets, 3 pages.
- A4 host rules and answers, 4 pages.
- US Letter player worksheets, 3 pages.
- US Letter host rules and answers, 4 pages.
These original PDFs are free for personal celebrations, with no sign-up. They are paper worksheets, so print them and write by hand. Everyone playing the same game uses the same worksheet; you do not need different numbered cards.
| Game | Player file | Host file | Timed play | Maximum score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Celebration Word Sprint | Page 1 | Page 2, plus setup on page 1 | 4 minutes | 8 |
| Four Guests, Four Contributions | Page 2 | Page 3, plus setup on page 1 | 6 minutes | 8 |
| The Ten-Item Memory Tray | Page 3 | Page 4, plus setup on page 1 | 45 seconds viewing, then 2 minutes recall | 10 |
Gather pens and a timer. For memory, make one display copy for every three players so everyone can see the words and drawings closely. For all three games, about 25 minutes is a proposed allowance for explanations, play, checking and transitions. It is not a tested event duration; the bridal shower planning checklist can help you leave space around the activity.

1. Celebration Word Sprint
Give each player or pair page 1. They have four minutes to write one English word or short phrase in each row. It must begin with that row’s letter and fit the category. Do not use phones or reference lists.
| Starting letter | Category | One acceptable example |
|---|---|---|
| C | Something you could set on a dining table | Candle |
| R | Something used to wrap or decorate a gift | Ribbon |
| G | A place where people could gather | Garden |
| L | A drink that can be served without alcohol | Lemonade |
| D | The name of a flower | Daisy |
| B | A dessert or sweet baked treat | Brownie |
| S | A word connected with music | Song |
| H | A positive quality you could wish for someone | Happiness |
The host starts the timer after explaining the rules and calls a clear stop at four minutes. Award one point for each valid answer, up to eight. The examples above are possibilities, not a closed answer key. A player may write “Cup” for C or “Harmony” for H and earn the point if the meaning fits.
Judge the phrase as written. “A candle” begins with A, so it does not score in the C row. A sensible plural is fine. A blank, a wrong initial letter or an answer repeated elsewhere on the same player’s sheet earns zero. Different players may use the same word and still score.
For a doubtful answer, let its writer explain the fit in one sentence and apply the same decision to everyone. The highest score wins; tied highest scores share the win. There is no extra point for finishing early. If the group prefers another language, agree on replacement categories and letters before making a new sheet, since these prompts are written for English.
2. Four Guests, Four Contributions
This paper puzzle uses four fictional guests. Each arrives once and brings a different contribution. The times are 1:10, 1:20, 1:30 and 1:40 p.m. The contributions are flowers, cups, napkins and plates. Every time and contribution is used exactly once.
Give players page 2 and six minutes to fill the arrival and contribution columns for Iris, June, Noor and Tess. Working in a pair is welcome; keep the host solution out of view.
The six clues are:
- Tess brings the flowers.
- Iris arrives at 1:20 p.m.
- The cups arrive exactly 10 minutes before the napkins.
- The flowers arrive before the cups.
- The plates arrive at 1:40 p.m.
- June arrives later than Noor.
Host answer and scoring
Award one point for each correct arrival time and one for each correct contribution. Score the cells separately: a correct time still earns a point when the contribution beside it is wrong. Four people with two scored cells each give a maximum of eight points. Tied highest scores share the win.
| Person | Arrival time | Contribution |
|---|---|---|
| Iris | 1:20 p.m. | Cups |
| June | 1:40 p.m. | Plates |
| Noor | 1:30 p.m. | Napkins |
| Tess | 1:10 p.m. | Flowers |
To explain the solution, start with the cups. They cannot arrive at 1:10 because flowers must arrive earlier. They cannot arrive at 1:30 because the napkins would then use 1:40, already taken by plates. That puts cups at 1:20, napkins at 1:30 and flowers at 1:10. Iris brings cups and Tess brings flowers. Of the remaining two people, June arrives later, so Noor takes 1:30 and June takes 1:40.
This is a fictional puzzle, not a suggested arrival schedule for your actual shower.
3. The Ten-Item Memory Tray
The “tray” is host page 4, a display of ten labeled drawings. No real objects are needed. Place a display where each small group can see it. Keep the players’ recall sheets, page 3, face down.
- Explain that guests will see ten items for 45 seconds, then have two minutes to remember them.
- Start the viewing timer and read the ten labels aloud once. Players can look and listen but cannot write or take photos.
- At 45 seconds, hide or collect every display copy. Then players turn over their recall sheets.
- Start the two-minute recall timer. Players write one item on each of the ten numbered lines, in any order.
- Call stop and reveal the display for checking. Score only the first item on each line, with one point per different correct item, up to ten. Repeats earn zero.
| Displayed item | Also accept |
|---|---|
| Ribbon | Bow |
| Spoon | Recognizable spelling of spoon |
| Lemon | Recognizable spelling of lemon |
| Key | Recognizable spelling of key |
| Envelope | Letter envelope |
| Button | Recognizable spelling of button |
| Teacup | Cup or mug |
| Leaf | Recognizable spelling of leaf |
| Napkin | Serviette |
| Bell | Recognizable spelling of bell |
Do not require colors, positions, exact drawings or perfect spelling. Ribbon and bow name the same displayed item, so writing both earns only one point. Guests with the highest score share the win. If your group needs more viewing or writing time, agree on that before starting and give everyone the same allowance.
Print only the pages you need
For 12 individual players and one non-playing host playing all three games, print 12 copies of each of the three player pages. That is 36 player sheets. Print the four-page host pack once, then three additional copies of host page 4. You now have four memory displays, one per three players, and 43 sheets in total.
For just Word Sprint, the same group needs 12 copies of player page 1 and host pages 1 and 2, a total of 14 sheets. If guests play in six pairs, print six player sheets instead. Count the playing units, rather than every person in the room.
Select the PDF that matches your A4 or Letter paper and print single-sided at Actual size or 100%. Check one page before making the rest. Adobe’s page-sizing guidance explains that Actual size preserves scale and may crop a page that does not fit. If a printer clips a margin, use Fit and check again. The game sheets can be printed in grayscale.
The files have been digitally checked for page dimensions, text boundaries and answer consistency. We have not run a physical playtest or sample print. Keep the first-page printer check and adjust the proposed timing for your group before play.

Make joining in easy
Offer the activity with a simple invitation: “We have a short paper game if you would like to join. You can work with someone, help me check or keep chatting.” Put a pen beside each available sheet, without placing one in front of anyone who has declined.
Score the games separately rather than combining unlike scores into an overall winner. Small matching prizes make a shared win easy, but prizes are optional. For an outdoor garden bridal shower, use a clipboard or firm backing so the worksheet is practical away from a dining table. Schedule the game while people are comfortably settled, and leave the next part of the gathering flexible.
Choose a word game, a fictional logic puzzle or a memory round, keep the host answers separate, and announce the timing and shared-win rule before play.
